Analysis of Music Video - Troye Sivan, Fools

 This music video is the second of a series of three. The begining of this video shows Troye Sivans character and his boyfriend, sat together in his boyfriends room, this is different from most music videos as this one includes a homosexual couple, whereas most typical music videos include a heterosextual couple. The font used to introduce the video is a very bold white sans-serif, which could refelct the more modern feel behind this video.

As the video contiues we see many intresting shots of the parelles of what occurs in that boys bedroom. There are many shots of Troye Sivan and his boyfriend kissing in bed, and then many other shots of his dad beating up the boyfriend. This is a very intresting topic that is incorperated into this music video, as this is a struggle that many gay people have to stuggle with.

The music stops for a brief pause so you can hear the boyfriends dad shouting at him that if Troye Sivan ever goes back to their house he would kill him.The shots that follow on from this show the boy being beaten up now has had to find a girlfriend, a close up of Troye Sivans face shows how heart broken he feels.

 This sequence also cuts between parallel shots again, it shows shots of Troye Sivan and his boyfriend looking really happy, playing around and seemingly having fun, and then cuts to shots with his boyfriend with his new girlfriend and he doesnt look as happy, his smiles seem forced.








The video ends with an advertisment for his next video 'Talk Me Down' this section also includes product placement for a new laptop at the time.
