Tuesday 8th November - Editing

This is our Final attempt at editing everything all together. The deadline is at the end of the week and all we have to do is finished editing Matt into the video. His performance is amazing and I'm so relieved that we got him to do this for us.

Album Front Cover Inspiration

Since getting back our feedback on our Ancillary texts, and also having to change the images for the Ancillary texts due to a change in performer I have been trying to think of an idea for my front cover. I feel like if I get my front cover idea sorted the rest will be easier to imagine. I decided to look at some already existing album covers and came across these:

I love the idea of  having text blocking the face from view, especially the Halsey album cover. I want to re-create this for my Front cover.

Friday 4th November - Filming

Today, was out last ditch effort at getting a male performer in our video. Chloe and I brought in our friend, Matt, who we know we can trust as he has been in every single media product Chloe and I have made since GCSE. He was amazing. Its like the biggest weight has lifted off my shoulders, his performance was so convincing and he knew every line. He put so much more effort into than Tom did.

First Draft of Magazine Ad

First Draft of Digipak

I have chosen to do two seperate digipaks. This is because even though I like the edited one I'm unsure if I like it enough to have it as my Digipak, I wanted to post it to show my progress and all my ideas. I am still unsure if I prefer the unmanipulated digipak or the edited version.

Thursday 6th October - Editing

For the first half of our lesson today, Chloe and I continued to edit more shots together, moving the sequences around to make it flow better. The shots we have taken work realy well together, it flows well and looks quite natural. The section when it lists off all the factors of a relationship, our shots fit really well, and while they don't match the lyrics as much as we had initially wanted, i feel that it looks better this way. In the second half of the lesson we went into the studio and filmed some performance shots of me. While we know that the singer in the band is male, we did use me as the performer because there was an inpending deadline, and we wanted to have the shots in our video to at least see what it looks like.

Tuesday 4th October - Editing

Today, Chloe and I rewatched the small section we had edited in the friday lesson, and still hated it. The sequence was a series of shots with me and then a series of shots with Tom, it didnt flow, it looked odd. We decided to move some shots around, to make the sequence look and flow better. We then started to add in our shots for the chorus sequence and other section of the song.

Friday 30th September - Editing

Today we only had a single lesson in Media, so we knew we didnt have time to carry on filming so we started editing the begining sequence of our music video, I think the sequence looks wrong, there is something about it that I really hate. I'm sure I will like it better after we have finished it, though I feel we should reconsider the placement of some shots.

Thursday 29th September 2016 - Filming

Today, instead of attending the Media lesson Chloe, Tom and I Traveled to Highfields at Nottingham University and filmed us on the rowing boats they have there, we had hired a rowing boat for an hour, so we were able to get all of our shots done, these shots have come out really nice and I am very impressed with them. It was also a lot of fun shooting this scene, as we had very little planned on what the shots were to look like, the filming process was creative and very natural. After we finished filming at Highfields we went back to Toton Sidings and got shots of Tom for the beginning of the video, these shots dont look as natural but I still feel like they are good.

Wednesday 28th September 2016 - Filming

Today was a challenge day, and we weren't required in college so we took the oportunity to film in town and as out actor was available this was the perfect day to film. We went into Hockley to film the shots. Locations in Hockley we used were; Cow, Rough Trade, The White Rose, Bridlesmith Gate and a side street with lots of cool graffiti. The day went very productively as the shops we wanted to use let us film inside, and lots of the shots looked really nice. Today was a productive day.

Tuesday 27th September 2016 - Filming

Chloe and I started to film our music video today. Our male actor Tom was unavailable due to him being at work, so Chloe and I filmed shots that only I was in so we wouldn't have to do this at a later date. I live very close to Toton sidings, which is a location with lots of trees and nature, and filmed our first shots up there. This filming process made me more confident about our music video, as I was quite impressed the shots we had taken. Chloe took control of the filming as I was staring in the video but we both shared ideas throughout filming, and gave opinions on shots.
